Vascular & Interventional Radiology

An application of radiology that enables minimally invasive surgery to be performed with the aid of simultaneous radiological imaging of the field of operation within the body

Vascular and Interventional Radiology

Vascular and Interventional Radiology (also referred to as Surgical Radiology) is a medical sub-specialty of radiology which utilizes minimally-invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system.  Some of these procedures are done for diagnostic purposes, while other procedures can help treat a condition. Interventional procedures are generally associated with less risk, less pain, less cost and shorter recovery times compared to open surgeries.
